Richard Lessey - MA, MFA
Trinidadian Richard Lessey, dancer, choreographer and educator. Richard’s performance credits include, The Book of Mormon [dance captain, ensemble] (Oslo, Norway), La Cage Aux Folles [Cagelle) (Aarhus, Denmark), Disney's The Lion King [dancer/ swing] (Hamburg, Germany), Black Burlesque Revisited (US tour), The Dancing Man [assistant choreographer, dance captain, ensemble] (Oslo and European tour) and performing member of Tabanka Dance Ensemble (Oslo, Norway), the Metamorphosis Dance Company (Trinidad) and the Noble Douglas Dance Company Inc. (Trinidad). He has worked with various choreographers including Chet Walker, Molly Molloy, David Byer, Peter London, Geraldine Armstrong, Reggie Wilson, Andreas Bjorneboe, Siv Gaustad and Solvi Edvardsen.
Richard is an associate (Ballet and Modern) of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing; an associate (Acting) of the London Academy of Music and Drama; and a licentiate (Acting) of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He holds a Master of Arts in Education (Dance Teaching) from the University of Bath/ Royal Academy of Dance and a Master of Fine Arts in Choreography from the University of Roehampton.
