Dr Carol La Chappelle
Award winning Choreographer and Dance Educator La Chapelle hold a PhD from UTT and Master of Arts from the University of the West Indies. She is a graduate of the London College of Dance and Drama, Dartford College of Education, University of London and the Artistic Director of the La Chapelle Dance Company of Trinidad and Tobago.
She has served on the executive and as term President of the NDA, on the board of Management of Queen's Hall, as a Best Village Judge, & Dance Director of the Trinidad Theatre Workshop. She has collaborated with Elizabeth Bergmann at Harvard University, Greta Mendez MBE, & Geraldine Connor Artistic Director of Carnival Messiah.
Awards include five Cacique awards for Choreography, Best Actress, The President's Award for Excellence in the Arts, The National Dance Association Emeritus Award and International Women's Award for Pioneering Women. Awarded by NWAC for Outstanding Contribution to Development in the Arts, The Rotary Award for culture & National Cultural Legends Award 2019.
Dr La Chappelle served as Arts coordinator and Assistant Professor of UTT, on the Dip Ed team at UWI and MA supervisor at APA, UTT.
